Supernatural season 14 will see Sam and Castiel join forces to get Dean back after being possessed by Michael in last season's finale.
As previewed by star Misha Collins: "Cas is pulling out all the stops," the actor told Entertainment Weekly.
“He’s willing to make any kind of deal with any kind of devil in order to get Dean back. He’s attempting to form unsavory alliances and leaving no stone unturned. The entire hunter clan is wildly searching for any possible solution to the problem.”
As to how Dean's absence will affect Sam and Castiel's relationship in early season 14, Collins shared that fans will see the duo grow closer.
"Sam was initially more wary of Cas. They have grown closer over the years and we see that in the beginning of this season," he said.
"They’re showing care and concern for one another to an extent that we haven’t quite seen before."
As per the network's official description of the Oct.11th premiere, the duo's main goal will be heavily felt in the season opener.
"Sam (Jared Padalecki) enlists everyone's help in trying to track down Dean (Jensen Ackles), who can literally be anywhere."
Meanwhile, "Castiel (Misha Collins) may be in over his head after meeting up with an unreliable source."
