USA Network's Suits spinoff, Second City has officially kicked off production in Los Angeles for its first season, the cable network has announced.
The legal drama, starring Gina Torres as Jessica Pearson, has also added four new faces to its cast. They include Bethany Joy Lenz (One Tree Hill) as Keri Allen, a driven, ambitious city attorney serving as unofficial right hand to the mayor.
Chantel Riley (Wynonna Earp) as Angela Cook, a certified Nursing Assistant who's suspicious of her cousin Jessica’s sudden altruism.
Isabel Arraiza (The Oath) as Yoli Castillo, Jessica’s passionate assistant who will learn from the best how to most effectively channel her intensity.
Eli Goree (Riverdale) as Derrick Mayes, Bobby’s young press secretary and a former journalist, who got into politics to make a difference but struggles with the reality of what it takes to do so.
They will join previously introduced cast members from the original: Morgan Spector (Homeland) will play Mayor Bobby Golec, the handsome, charismatic, and enigmatic working-class mayor of Chicago featured in Suits episode 716, "Good-Bye," and Simon Kassianides (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), who stars as Nick D’Amato, a tough cop who serves as the Mayor’s driver but has a mysterious connection to one of Chicago’s biggest developers.
Second City is centered on powerhouse lawyer Jessica Pearson (Torres) as she adjusts to the dirty world of Chicago politics.
Additionally, the cable network has dropped the official season 8B promo of Suits, premiering in 2019.
