Casting news alert!

Here are the latest additions to your favorite scripted shows we're covering on our site:

The Resident (FOX)

Jenna Dewan has booked a recurring role in season 2 of the FOX medical drama.

Dewan will play Julian Lynn, a "sharp and sophisticated" medical device rep and former dancer who got into her current line of work after a device helped save her life. As the season progresses, however, she'll become more aware of the shadier side of her business.

Law and Order SVU (NBC)

Dylan Walsh (Unforgettable) and George Newbern (Scandal) have booked recurring roles in season 20.

Walsh will play John Conway, a self-made man and major beverage distributor who is respected by his community and looked up to by his children. His story will unfold in the near future.

Newbern will play Dr. Al Pollack, a charming, handsome and very wealthy doctor who is a past and future love interest to Detective Rollins (Kelli Giddish). They’ve had a tumultuous relationship in past and he has a bit of a wandering eye, but when they reconnect, things might be different this time — or not.

Star (FOX)

Brandy Norwood has been upped to series regular in the show's upcoming third season.

Norwood recurred as Cassie Brown in season 2.

Blindspot (NBC)

Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio (Limitless) has landed a recurring role in season 4. She will play the character of Madeline Burke.

No other details about her role has been made available.

Bull (CBS)

Annabelle Attanasio has departed the CBS drama. She will not return on the show's upcoming third season as tech expert, Cable.

Here's a statement from the actress:

I’m excited to share that I have been given the opportunity to direct my first feature film, a story I’ve been shepherding for four years.

Sadly, the film conflicts with my role as Cable on Bull. CBS and the show’s producers have graciously allowed me to leave the series so I can pursue this extraordinary opportunity. While I will miss Cable dearly, I am so thrilled about this new chapter in my career, and am forever grateful to the show for supporting me on my creative journey. I loved my time on the show, and feel so lucky to have the support of the show’s producers, CBS, and most of all, my unbelievable castmates.

In the Dark (CW)

Rich Sommer (Mad Men) has joined the CW's midseason series on a recast.

He will play Dean, replacing Austin Nichols, who played the role in the pilot.

9-1-1 (FOX)

Charisma Carpenter (Scream Queens) will guest star in the upcoming second season of the FOX series.

Carpenter will appear in season 2's premiere playing a 9-1-1 caller who has found herself “stuck between a rock and a hard place,” according to TV Line.
