The following Agents of SHIELD spoilers have been sourced from TV Guide magazine.
The two-hour Season 2 finale of Marvel's Agents of S.H.LE.L.D. sees three supreme forces on a collision course. There's S.H.I.EL.D., led by Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg), and S.H.I.E.L.D. 2.0, headed by Robert Gonzales (Edward lames Olmos), and the super powered Inhumans, who really want to be left alone.
Executive producer Jeffrey Bell shared the following spoilers:
The destructive power of Cal (Kyle Maclachlan)— teased since last season—will be on display in a surprising way.
We've seen him have PCP moments of rage strength, but the tales of Cal annihilating a whole village and doing other terrible things on a vast scale just don't jibe with the man we know so far. That will change. We're taking a cue from the comics where Cal—or Cal Zabo, as he's known—is Marvel's Mr. Hyde, as well as a very fractured and broken Dr. Jekyll.
S.H.I.E.L.D. turncoat Grant Ward (Brett Dalton) recently realigned himself with Coulson— what's his end-game?
Ward is such a wild card you never know if he's going to kiss you or kill you. You will know exactly where he stands by the season finale. He may be the most changed of any of our characters.
Is he really smitten with Agent 33 (Maya Stojan)?
Having them be crazy lovers on the run has been fun. But it's time to see how much Ward truly cares for her.
The S.H.I.E.L.D. vs. S.H.I.E.L.D. conflict will be settled in the wake of the Avengers: Age of Ultron. A new, unified S.H.I.E.L.D. will move the series Into next season.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier had a nuclear effect on our series, but the impact of Ultron will be much more nuanced. A secret revealed in the film changes many key relationships on S.H.I.E.L.D. and repositions the conflict between Coulson and Gonzales. It leads to a major decision regarding the Inhumans, one that assures not everyone is leaving the finale alive.
We will leave you with a little catharsis, a little emotion, a little mystery. Blend it together lightly and have a nice summer.
