NBC’s Up All Night was known to viewers as a single-format sitcom ala Modern Family.
However, when the show wraps up its 11th episode this fall season expect the series to switch from single cam to a multi-cam format when it returns on winter — Deadline reports.
Production will then shut down for a three-month hiatus to convert the stage and set to multi-cam tapings in front of live audiences, during which time the show’s writers will work on scripts. Up All Night‘s new showrunner this season, Tucker Cawley, comes from a very strong multi-camera background.
‘Up All Night’ airs every Thursday on NBC.
