Secret’s Out: 7th Heaven’s Beverly Mitchell Joining Secret Life

I was a 7th Heaven fan long before my sister pulled me into The Secret Life of the American Teenager fandom, so once I was “in”, I could appreciate the little things both series had in common. Brenda Hampton as creator, Dan Foliart as composer…little Mackenzie Rosman returning as a not-so-little-anymore recurring character.

Now, we older Secret Life watchers have another 7th Heaven treat in store for us – Beverly Mitchell (known for her 7th Heaven role as Lucy Camden) joining the cast:

Mitchell will appear when new episodes begin in January 2011, a show rep tells TVGuide.com exclusively. Her character will replace Blossom star Mayim Bialik, who currently plays the school counselor.

I’ll miss Mayim as the counselor, but I’m so stoked about Beverly’s addition to the cast, even if it’s only recurring. What do you guys think of the casting change? Let’s discuss in the comments!
