Thirteen survivors battle an army of walkers in the epic season 2 finale of The Walking Dead, titled “Beside the Dying Fire” airing Sunday on AMC.

These new walkers seem to be quickening their ambulatory pace, though moribund. Now, based on this clip, the Walkers are now rather energetic ‘climbers’! Where do they get the energy? Recall at the CDC their MRI/Pet Scans revealed minimal electrical activity? Hmmmm. Perhaps next season they’ll learn to DRIVE and the show can be renamed, “The Driving Dead”. Then, the show can be filmed in South Jersey! Anyway – good entertainment which is rare on the tube these days.
I detest Lori who is in NO WAY a candidate to be the new “Eve”, but theory is that her baby’s blood will have the ‘immune component’ which might save humanity….with a nod to Richard Matheson’s story.

Everyone is infected. You die you turn. The doctor at the CDC told Rick that. Lori has a daughter. Both die by the hands of the Governor (who is casted for season 3)
The title is about the living too, not just the dead, which is why we
don’t see lots of zombies each episode. It’s the humanity in all of us
that is important here, and how we deal with life, love, and death that
is at the core of all good stories. Shane’s character did a fine job of
showing us how a good man succumbs to this virus, and I too will miss
him. It seems that all the characters are slowly changing as suspicion,
threats, depression and illogical behaviors increase. Thanks to all
who have made this show awesome, and can’t wait for season 3!!

I wonder how closely the show will mirror the comic book. Some have hypothesized that in the show (which occasionally departs from the storyline of the comic) Lori’s unborn child has immunity from the zombie plague and the prison should have some sort of medical facility. So, logically if Herschel with his medical skills survives, there might be a resolution and the story might have a different twist? I realize the Governor is cast (morrisey), but TV is magic, right?

what actually happens in the last episode? with all the walkers locked in that like farm shed.?
