We’ve heard all about Bryan’s (Andrew Rannells) infamous mom on The New Normal, but so far we’ve only gotten to see David’s (Justin Bartha) mother – and her relationship with Bryan. But what about Bryan’s actual mom?
At PaleyFest, Ryan Murphy shared with TV Guide that the role of Bryan’s mom has already been cast – and it’s Mary Kay Place (Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman, Big Love, Suburgatory).
So what is Bryan’s mom like? Justin Bartha dishes a little details for us.
“They don’t have the greatest relationship,” Bartha said. “[Bryan]‘s not thrilled about reconciling, but David pushes him to do it.” Much like Bryan’s character is famously inspired by Murphy, Murphy said the part of Bryan’s mom is “loosely based” on his own mother.
What do you think of the casting, and do you think Bryan will end up reconciling with his mom?
