Here are the spoilers abound on the third season premiere of The Killing, which airs Sunday, June 2 on AMC.
The new season, which takes place a year later, finds Holder investigating the death of a prostitute whose killer took her rings and broke her finger — details eerily similar to one of now-retired Linden's old cases. Although she tries to ignore the connection at first, it isn't long before Linden is back in action (she fires her weapon in the very first episode!) and questioning Ray Seward (Peter Sarsgaard), the man now 30 days from being executed for the murder of his wife. Although he surprisingly maintains he is guilty of the crime, the grisly final shot of the premiere suggests that the real killer has been far more active than Ray's prison sentence would allow.
