Awesome news, The Bold Type fans! Freeform has officially renewed the series for two more seasons with 10 one-hour episodes each, the cable network has annouced Wednesday.
However, there's a catch: creator Sarah Watson has stepped down as showrunner due to creative differences with the network. Amanda Lasher (Sweet/Vicious) has been tapped to replace her.
"At Freeform, we are committed to delivering shows that celebrate the power and possibility of the female voice,” said Karey Burke, executive vp programming and development at Freeform.
“Season one of The Bold Type brought culturally significant stories to the masses that not only entertain, but also empower our viewers to conquer the world — we are excited to continue to champion these incredible women.”
