Change is coming behind the scenes at Supernatural. Executive Producer Sera Gamble, who has been with the show since the beginning and has been co-showrunner with Robert Singer for the past two seasons, will be stepping down.
Reports are that she opted to not renew her contract to focus on development. Robert Singer will remain executive producer and be co-showrunner with Jeremy Carver, who was the executive producer/co-showrunner of Syfy’s Being Human and is joining Supernatural as an executive producer. Carver is actually returning to Supernatural, having worked on the show from 2007 to 2010.
Although Supernatural has not been formally renewed, all signs point to a Season 8, particularly since they’re hiring a new showrunner. There’s no need for a new showrunner if there isn’t a show to run!
Have you liked Sera Gamble’s tenure as executive producer? Are you sad or glad that she is leaving?
