‘Supernatural’s’ Sera Gamble Stepping Down as Executive Producer

Change is coming behind the scenes at Supernatural. Executive Producer Sera Gamble, who has been with the show since the beginning and has been co-showrunner with Robert Singer for the past two seasons, will be stepping down.

Reports are that she opted to not renew her contract to focus on development. Robert Singer will remain executive producer and be co-showrunner with Jeremy Carver, who was the executive producer/co-showrunner of Syfy’s Being Human and is joining Supernatural as an executive producer. Carver is actually returning to Supernatural, having worked on the show from 2007 to 2010.

Although Supernatural has not been formally renewed, all signs point to a Season 8, particularly since they’re hiring a new showrunner. There’s no need for a new showrunner if there isn’t a show to run!

Have you liked Sera Gamble’s tenure as executive producer? Are you sad or glad that she is leaving?

I feel I may have hope for the show again now but I do feel bad. But honestly it might be what’s. Best for the show. She gave it an effort but in the end I think she just tried to much in season 7 and didn’t have a a clear idea of how things would be(like to many holes) the killing of castiel in ep 2 was aweful the former friend gone darkside and all powerful was a good arc and vililan. But instead she wrote him off and gave us the leviathans which never fully developed and its to late now at ep 19 then they bring back castiel and within an episode his character is in question again. While I give her credit for trying and helping along the way. She def brought season 7 down.

There is a God after all!  I was going to finish up S7 and give it up.  I haven’t been this excited about the show since the end of S4.  Welcome back, Jeremy!

I’m happy she’s leaving, she got rid of Bobby, Cas and the Impala.. Season 6-7 having been disappointing, the interesting bits have been ignored like the war in heaven for the Leviathans, which are boring and not in the least bit scary.
