‘Supernatural’ Season 8 Official Guide: The Winchesters Are on the Move!

Our favorite brothers will no longer be in TV Purgatory (aka Friday night)!

Supernatural is relocating to a new day for Season 8. It will be airing on Wednesday nights at 9 pm, following new show Arrow.

Supernatural’s new time slot competition will be Criminal Minds on CBS, Modern Family and The Neighbors on ABC, Law & Order: SVU on NBC, and The X Factor on Fox.

The CW has released the following guide for Season 8 (not too many spoilers there):

The thrilling and terrifying journey of the Winchester brothers continues as Supernatural enters its eighth season. Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) have spent their lives on the road, battling every kind of supernatural threat.  Over the years, after dozens of bloody adventures, they have faced everything from the yellow-eyed demon that killed their mother to vampires, ghosts, shapeshifters, angels and fallen gods.  They even came face to face with Lucifer and the Four Horsemen in averting the Apocalypse.  With the help of allies – both human and supernatural – they’ve discovered that every threat they vanquish opens a new door for evil to enter in.

In the show’s seventh season, their hunt for the dreaded Leviathans – monstrous creatures escaped from Purgatory – has cost them dearly.  Claiming the life of their best friend and father-figure, Bobby Singer, and shattering their protector, the fallen angel Castiel, Sam and Dean’s battle to somehow defeat the age-old Leviathan threat will take everything they’ve got.  As dawn arrives after their endless struggle and sacrifice to defeat the world’s evils, they know that, come nightfall, something otherworldly – something supernatural – will claw its way out of the shadows, demanding their attention.

Are you happy with the move?

UPDATE: Season 8 will most likely not be the final season of Supernatural. CW head Mark Pedowitz said during today’s upfront, “I’m not looking at Season 8 as the final year in any way, shape or form.” Now we have to make sure the ratings are good, Supernatural fans!

The move is ok with me.  I watch each episode of Supernatural 3 and 4 times.  I’ll find the show no matter where they move it because I am , unfortunately, obsessed with it.

This move can increase the show’s ratings.

  • The First Guest

Wednesday night was not the most viable move, all factors considered. Most people would not be happy with this.

I think that this move is a good one and will increase the viewers as before is the new show Arrow, therefore people would want to carry on and watch this show! I agree with the comment bellow that it doesnt matter what day they move it to, cause i will watch each episode around 10 times, and i am OBSESSED!  CAN NOT WAIT TO SEE DEAN AND CAS IN PURGATORY!!OMG

I have a lot of friends that couldn’t watch the show on Fridays because that’s a busy night, parties, movies, datenights, Wednesdays are better. Trust me.

So it will be playing opposite Criminal Minds … okay I can handle it … I like both shows and I’ve got two HDTV tuners in my PC [Bedroom PC] to record with … plus my PC in my garage also has at this time … one HDTV tuner … so I can record 3 shows at once … so don’t worry Dean and Sam … I will be watching you … cheers … my wife and I love your show … we also love Bobby but I guess he is busy as the new Sheriff on … Justified with Timothy Olyphant
