It's upfronts time in Hollywood, and the CW has released its new fall schedule and details about the upcoming season of Supernatural.
First off, Supernatural is moving! It is being paired with Smallville, moving to Fridays at 9 pm. While I'm happy that the show is being moved away from the ratings combat zone that is Thursday night, Friday night is usually where they move shows to die. Is this a signal that this will be its last season? Is it simply that the CW wanted to use Vampire Diaries' good ratings to help launch its new Nikita show, and they moved Supernatural to its most logical place, back with old schedule-mate Smallville? What do you think?
Next, Ausiello has a spoiler-filled synopsis of what we can expect to see in Season 6. Here's the press release:
Season six will be a season of mystery and shadow. Heaven and Hell have been left in complete disarray since the apocalyptic events of season five. And now, monsters, angels and demons roam across a lawless and chaotic landscape. And so Dean Winchester, who has retired from hunting and sworn never to return, finds himself being pulled back into his old life – pulled back by none other than Sam Winchester, who has escaped from Hell. The two reunite to beat back the rising tide of creatures and demon-spawn, but they quickly realize that neither are who they used to be, their relationship isn’t what it used to be, and that nothing is what it seems.
We knew they wouldn't keep Sam and Dean apart for too long. I'm intrigued by the final line, "neither are who they used to be...and nothing is what it seems." A hint that perhaps Sam is not who/what we think he is? Tell me your thoughts in the comments below!
