Smash Season Finale episode airs tonight on NBC, but people are already talking about next year.
- Smash will be absent from the fall schedule and the season 2 is programmed to air during midseason (its current spot will be taken by J.J Abram’s new show Revolution)
- NBC Entertainment president Robert Greenblatt has announced the second season will have 16 to 18 episodes
- The network wants to “run it sequentially week after week with new episodes” beginning in the winter.
- Gossip Girl executive producer Josh Safran will also take over showrunner duties on Smash in season two, replacing Theresa Rebeck, the creator of the show.
