Both Janel Parrish (Mona) and Troian Bellisario (Spencer) teased some Pretty Little Liars spoilers in their exclusive Wetpaint Entertainment interviews about how Spencer will "snap" in next week's episode, "What Becomes of the Broken-Hearted?" (have you checked out the promo?).
"Well, Spencer now knows that Mona and Toby are working together. Mona is not fooling Spencer for one second. So, as you know, they're on this academic decathlon team now. So that means they're going to be spending a lot more time together. It's going to be kind of a cat-and-mouse game for the next episode. Mona's still playing, “I don't know what you're talking about. I'm super sweet now,” and Spencer's just on to her. So there might be just a little catfight coming up....
"It will be an environment where Spencer will be really embarrassed that she snapped."
On Mona: "There's an upcoming episode when I tackle Mona [Janel Parrish]," Troian dished. She explained a bit more about the scene, saying. "Mona's bating Spencer and bating Spencer ... and I was thinking, these girls have never been able to retaliate, so I had to launch myself over a table and take out poor Janel ... I let out this Tarzan scream and I scared Janel so bad."
Troian also shares that, if you think Spencer has already hit "rock bottom", then guess again. But it will lead to a "transformation" of sorts by the season's end.
On Spencer's transformation: "She burns herself to the ground and rises up out of the ashes. By the end of the season, Spencer is someone completely new and there is no going back."
And if you think you've already seen Spencer's breakdown, think again! According to Troian, the devastation just keeps coming: "When she finds out about Toby, it's not the end of her hitting rock bottom — there are about 7 more basements for her to fall through."
Troian also dished that we'll see a physical transformation, too, as Spencer's picture-perfect preppy looks gives way to a far less polished style.
Thinks Spencer's breakdown with Mona will make the girls even more of a target for "A"?
