Keep reading to find out a few thing you need to know about ‘Nikita’ Season 2 Episode 1 “Game Change”!
Showrunner Craig Silverstein tells Zap2it,
“Everyone is in a different place. Almost every character has shifted, musical chairs style, to a different position of power… or lack there of. It’s part of the plan that we have from last year.”
- Frenemies – “Unfortunate” Turn of Events:
Alex (Lyndsy Fonseca) and Nikita (Maggie Q) haven’t reconciled just yet, they’re going to have a showdown. Silverstein says,
“I think that it’s a little more complicated than just fighting each other all season. It’s going to sort expand and contract, there will be hot and cold periods between them. It will get better and it will get worse.”
Nikita obviously feels a responsibility to her former protege, but don’t expect Alex to be anything but more vengeful after the premiere.
- Comic relief:
The season 2 premiere has plenty of laugh-out-loud moments. And you can thank Birkoff (Aaron Stanford) for that. Craig explains,
“We wanted to try to go for a lighter feel. It’s still a serious show, but there’s a little family dynamic between Michael (Shane West), Nikita and Birkoff.”
- More firepower:
Fans are used to butt-kicking, usually in the form of fisticuffs when watching ‘Nikita’ but that changes in the season premiere, with a particularly spectacular C.G.I. sequence that involves some futuristic weaponry. Silverstein says,
“We went a little over budget on this episode. We realized we’re not an effects show.”
Given the alliance that forms, we can expect more to come on the high-tech end — and maybe even a tank.
Mikita will be going undercover (check out the season premiere photos). An expertly-delivered line may even make your heart skip a beat.
- Mikita moments:
Speaking of Mikita, there’s a few twists – like a breakup in the first five minutes.. Ok don’t worry, it’s possible that it’s for the undercover mission Mikita are on. But yes, Mikita fans will get to see their couple share more than a few tender scenes. Sane West (Michael) says,
“With Michael being with Nikita, it’s a whole other set of problems. This year, being on the run, it’s far different, but the scenes that I get to do with Maggie are more intimate… trying to figure out how their relationship even works.”
Oversight’s new agent Sean Pierce (Dillon Casey) makes a horrible first impression. Alex (Lyndsy Fonseca) and Amanda (Melinda Clarke) are particularly annoyed by him who makes it clear that he’s only around to get the black boxes back from Nikita by any means necessary.
- Division’s X-Man:
Percy (Xander Berekely) is in a glass prison, but that doesn’t mean he’s MIA. During the premiere, there will be a chilling conversation between Percy and Alex.
