New Girl Season 2 Spoilers: Get Ready for Old Nick, Shirtless Schmidt, and Jess Unhinged

Really, could we ask for anything better than more shirtless Schmidt? Well I know one thing better, shirtless Schmidt in the season 2 premiere! Heck yeah. E! Online reports:

"To really bookend the series premiere and the season-two premiere and make a complete circle of TV life, the New Girl writers have decided to once again make Schmidt shirtless in the first episode back. The twist? Someone else will be shirtless with him."

Oh gosh, let's hope it's not Jess. Why would it be Jess, you ask? Well, if you've seen the spoilers for episode 1 of season 2, you know that Jess loses her job teaching and Schmidt hires her as a shot girl. That alone sounds a little...unhinged, but creator Liz Meriwether assures us, it's only the tip of the iceberg.

"“She’s having to restart her life and figure out who she is and what she wants to do. I think we’re going to take our time and figure out what she wants and let her have a moment of questioning who she is, why she’s a teacher, and if that’s really what she wants to do.

“It's fun to write this new side of her that’s a little unhinged."

Beyond the season premiere, Jess will be exploring more than different job opportunities. Entertainment Weekly spoils us with the casting news that David Walton (NBC's Bent) will be playing a new love interest for Jess who's a bit of a "bad boy".

"His character mistakes Jess for someone else, but she decides to go along with it anyway. Expect him to show up in New Girl’s premiere on Sept. 25."

Jess will also be getting a visit from her parents...but enough about Jess and Schmidt! In case you were wondering about Nick, Zap2It didn't leave us hanging.

"Producers are looking for someone who looks like a 70-year-old version of Jake Johnson to play a patron at Nick's bar. He appears to be your average day-drunk... until he claims to be a time traveler from the future who knows everything about how Nick's life turns out."

EW confirmed that it's Justified's Raymond Barry who will be playing old-drunk-future Nick. What do you think?

P.S. The Hangover's Rachael Harris - the vice-principal at the school where Jess teaches used to teach - will be making a reappearance in season 2.

Share in the comments how you think Nick's life turns out in the future, your enthusiasm over shirtless Schmidt, and who you think might be shirtless-joining him in the season 2 premiere episode.
