Updated! 3/13/13: Episode title changed once again – to “Quick Hardening Caulk”. You may heave a sigh in New Girl exasperation…and then laugh because it’s kind of funny. (Who’s with me in thinking “Guy’s Night” was a better episode title?)

Update! 3/6/13: According to The Futon Critic, FOX has pushed “Quick Hardening Caulk” until Tuesday, March 19!

After all the hush-ups and fussing and “totally normal roommate” teeth-brushing sessions…Jess may just go ahead and tell Nick how she really feels anyway. Once she’s “hopped up on pain meds”, that is.

You can read the guide for season 2 episode 19 of New Girl, “Quick Hardening Caulk” below. (And make sure you also check out our exclusive spoilers for “Guys Night” right here.

JESS ADMITS HER FEELINGS FOR NICK ON AN ALL-NEW “NEW GIRL” TUESDAY, MARCH 12 MARCH 19, ON FOX

  • Jess comes to a conclusion about her romantic feelings for Nick and she struggles to tell him – until she’s hopped up on pain medication. But after admitting her feelings, she finds out he may have been keeping something from her.
  • Meanwhile, Schmidt becomes obsessed with buying a fish, which Winston sees as a metaphor for Schmidt’s unresolved feelings toward Cece….
  • …and Nick plans a bar promotion to impress the bar owner (guest star Odette Annable).
  • Guest Cast: Odette Annable as Shane.

Nick did a baaaaaaad thing. Remember, episode 2 “Katie”, the one where nick says to jess that ‘in the future, I may do something really bad to you, and I hope you can forgive me’? Well, my best assumption is that will come to light in this episode. Unless you did not read the spoilers on this page, Nick will do something with his co-worker that breaks jess’ heart. Will she forgive him? (:o

@8d47b4fe98df9f2526b23da3af1fb2d5:disqus, I completely forgot about that! Oh my gosh, you could be right. :)

The spoilers for this episode are confusing (I’m putting earlier spoilers with the above spoilers)- Jess admits her feelings while on cough syrup, and then goes to the bar where Nick is flirting with his boss Shane. She thinks that Nick is trying to make her jealous, until she sees him in a compromising position with Shane? I’m wondering if the first set of spoilers (that were out a few weeks ago) are misleading, or if Jess’ ‘feelings’ are telling Nick that she likes him but can’t date him (or doesn’t like him)? I guess we won’t know until we see it!

I dont think we should jump to conclusion just yet as to what that “bad thing” was. There have been speculation ever since Cooler, that probably “the kiss” was the bad thing or maybe “sleeping with Shane” would be the bad thing. But i just think neither of them were so terrible,as Jess has & will get over it(In ep 20 Jess is going to Chicago with Nick & in 21 they are going on a date which means they get past the Shane incident.) I think the bad thing is probably so terrible that no amount of apologies in future were sufficient enough & Nick had to go back in time to apologize to Jess (so to speak),even before doing to the deed.As Liz Meriwether suggested in an interview,I’m afraid the bad thing will be Nick & Jess hooking up,but Nick ends up marrying someone else.

I agree, @google-2a4e67af3d2fadf4eec626a4ea8fa116:disqus – it could be any of those things. My first thought was of course the kiss, but in recent episodes it seems like Nick and Jess are slowly coming to terms with it (at least more so than would warrant a really “bad thing” on Nick’s part. I think the point is to leave it open and keep us wondering…which kind of sucks for us (ha). I think that whatever it is, it would have to be something that really hurts Jess because Nick does really care about her.

@disqus_MNJybb43BI:disqus, you are not alone – sometimes it’s tough to decipher spoilers, and at one point I found pieces confusing too (and you’re right, sometimes you can’t really tell what’s going on until the whole episode airs…New Girl’s kind of crazy like that, lol).

From my understanding, I think what happens is Jess accidentally tells Nick how she feels about him while she’s on the pain meds (and I get the feeling that she doesn’t remember telling him, but I could be wrong about that) – then when she heads down to the bar, she sees Nick flirting with Shane, and I think that’s when she finds out they’ve been sleeping together. :o

After reading this: http://www.hitfix.com/whats-alan-watching/how-a-new-girl-script-gets-made-from-outline-to-final-cut-on-tinfinity, I think that part of it is that they are revising until the last minute, and sometimes the storylines get switched around/edited. We have spoilers for First Date, for instance, but it’s pretty clear that they are just now shooting it. I have a feeling those spoilers will change, as well! :)

  • http://glee-soundtrack.com/ Tanya Marcy

Oh yes, they definitely revise up until the last minute. TV writing’s real hectic like that. :) Thanks for sharing the link! Will be fun to check that article out.

  • Lucas

According to Fox’s website, the name of the episode 19 has been changed again. Instead of “Guy’s Night”, it will be “Quick Hardening Caulk”….

Oh my goodness…haha. This episode will have more episode titles than the entire season by the time we get to it! :) Is the website FoxFast?

  • Lucas

haha, wouldn’t be surprised if it’s changed again! Yes, you are correct, FoxFast.

Thank you, Lucas! Working on getting my FoxFast log-in, so I’m relying on other sources directing me to it. :)

LOL. That’s just dirty. I appreciate the writers’ efforts to throw us those little nuggets.
