The sophomore season of Hannibal (opens on Feb. 28) was previewed by the show’s creator Bryan Fuller at the recent TCA press tour. Since we’re still waiting for NBC to release the official episode description for the premiere titled “Kaiseki”, we’re counting on the spoilers revealed by Buddy TV during the said event.
Keep reading for the scoop:
Flash Forward: The season premiere opens with a serious and life-threatening fight between two main characters 12 weeks in the future. That scene will play out again in real time at the end of the season.
Returning Guest Stars: Eddie Izzard (Dr. Gideon), Raul Esparza (Dr. Chilton), Lara Jean Chorostecki (Freddie Lounds) are returning in season 2.
New Guest Stars: Amanda Plumber will play a character that Fuller said will “make you think twice about going to get acupuncture.” Jeremy Davis and Jonathan Tucker will also appear on the series as “guest psychopaths.”
Alana and Will: “[Alana's] main interest is always Will. … She will continue to be really focused on making sure Will is okay. And a true shrink, she wants him to heal and face what happened … and a little more kissing too.” – Dhavernas
Kissing: “Lots more kissing this season.” – Fuller
Character Arcs: “And so changing the paradigm from the first season where we had kind of a case of the week — we still do that this season, but we actually spread out more of the soap opera of what’s happening with the characters, because all of the work that we did on the first season, now we get to pay off. There’s a lot of fruit that we get to go plucking.” – Fuller
