As the show moves forward in season nine, we learned that Meredith is finally pregnant. However, as a character who had faced a long list of adversities, should we still keep our hopes up? In a chat with TV Guide, creator and showrunner Shonda Rhimes weighed-in on this McBaby matter, check it out below:
"The reason you all fear that I'm going to kill McBaby is because you guys think I kill everybody, even though I don't. I only kill some characters as necessary on a story basis.
What's good about the fact that everyone is so nervous is you're taking on Meredith's fear. "Meredith has this impending sense of doom because it was so hard for her to get pregnant because she never should've gotten pregnant in the first place. She's the girl who survived a drowning, a hospital shooting and a plane crash. It's very hard for her to believe that this good thing might happen. This is going to be a very interesting journey to watch her go on, which I'm really enjoying."
