On what’s coming up on this season…

As previously reported, James Tupper will have a three episode arc as a trauma counselor to help the doctors deal with their grief. As far as who is taking it the hardest, Rhimes says that “they’re all taking it pretty hard in their own individual ways… they’re all fairly damaged and trying to recover.”

On whether Lexie Grey will become the focal pt of the show when Ellen Pompeo leaves in two seasons…

While others may think this, Rhimes thinks it’s a bit premature to plan for someone’s departure who is still around.

On how the Mark-Lexie-Alex triangle will be resolved…

Rhimes had no definite answer but pointed out that this season, they’re going to “explore what happens next for both of those characters in a really interesting and, hopefully, a very non-predictable way.”

On Callie and Arizona’s recently reconciled relationship…

Rhimes does divulge that while the two are definitely together, they’re not necessarily happy. She says that the two will try to figure out how to settle down together and the struggles that come with different endpoints.
