Recent spoilers tell us that our beloved tequila-downing and table-dancing Meredith Grey is now a thing of the past. But could this really be true? Check out the new spoilers that'll reveal how (if at all) Meredith's going to change this coming season of Grey's Anatomy!
Last spoilers we heard, James Tupper, will be guest-starring as a trauma counselor who will be playing a big part in Meredith's life during his multi-episode arc. New spoilers tell us that he will be clearing doctors to go back to work and "Meredith is definitely not at the top of that list."
And Meredith does not enjoy this one bit. While Ellen Pompeo, the actress who plays Meredith Grey, reveals that while "Meredith does get cleared eventually," it isn't without some frustration and without Meredith pulling "out all the tricks and stops to try to get cleared."
On top of all of this, we can also expect Meredith to play the new role of.. the caretaker, which according to Pompeo is, "her way of not dealing with her own thing." You can expect Meredith to take care of half-sister Lexie and best friend Cristina, while also offering housing to the two remaining Mercy Westers: Dr. Jackson Avery and Dr. April Kempner.
With regards to the two Mercy Westers, Pompeo reveals that these two are allowed back into the OR -- something that Meredith does not agree with at all. Pompeo says that "[Perkins] comes in and he's just clearing people and he doesn't really know them," while Meredith feels like she knows that they're definitely not okay since she sees them on a daily basis.
