Since we're still basking in the sweet-sounding glow of New Directions tackling Jackson hits for Sectionals in last night's new episode, this Glee news headed your way will definitely sound as sweet.
It has been confirmed that the show will be tackling - not The Beatles as previously rumored - but Jackson (again) in a special tribute episode coming up in January:
Similar to Season 1's Madonna tribute, the January 24 episode of Fox's Glee will feature 10-12 songs from [Michael] Jackson's library. The episode is being fast-tracked in the writers' room now and is expected to begin shooting this Friday. Half of the episode will shoot before the cast breaks for the holidays, with the remaining numbers to be completed in January.
Think this means Michael Jackson is the one and only artist Glee is dedicating an episode to this season, or can The Beatles possibly be another tribute episode coming up? Showrunner Ryan Murphy has been keeping the artist tribute episodes to a bare minimum for season 3 (as in, none at all yet) so the writers can go "back to basics" and focus more on story and character. So it's hard to imagine having two tribute episodes coming up in the spring, but who knows?
Excited for Glee to cover Michael Jackson? Which songs would you pick out from his huge catalog? Share in the comments!
