This past season of Glee felt kind of like a war-zone at times in the Gleek-o-sphere, what with fans clinging to old cast favorites while new members of the Glee ensemble kind of got the short end of the stick.
But even though a lot of fans made no bones about preferring the New York storylines over those left for the glee club back in Lima, there is still good news for those who fell in love with some of our Glee newbies this year.
...TVLine has confirmed a Hollywood Reporter story that Glee‘s new class — Melissa Benoist (Marley), Jacob Artist (Jake), Becca Tobin (Kitty), Blake Jenner (Ryder) and Alex Newell (Unique) — have been promoted to series regulars.
Although if you've been missing seeing a lot of our Glee originals during season 4, you might not be too happy to hear that a good chunk of the old cast will not be returning as regulars for season 5 - and will instead make some minor guest appearances here and there.
Original castmembers Heather Morris (who plays Brittany), Mark Salling (Puck), Amber Riley (Mercedes) and Harry Shum, Jr. (Mike) will not be returning to the Fox musical dramedy as series regulars, TVLine has learned exclusively.
Additionally, Dianna Agron (Quinn) — who was only seen in a handful of episodes last season — is not slated to be back, save for a possible guest appearance here and there.
Morris, Salling, Riley and Shum may also return as occasional guest stars.
So are you more in mourning over losing some of the original cast, or more excited that the newer cast will be back next season?
