UPDATE: Entertainment Weekly and BuddyTV report that FOX President Kevin Reilly elaborated a tiny bit on the nature of Finn’s death on the show, “stress[ing] that a drug overdose won’t necessarily be Finn’s cause of death. ‘It is a celebration and really sad of this really vibrant kid’” and that “the script [for the episode - Episode 3] has not been finished yet.”
Everybody is feeling just a little bit nostalgiac and a little bit off, with production on season 5 of Glee starting up…with something “very big missing”, as co-creator and writer, Brad Falchuk tweeted this week.

We’ve been speculating how Glee will handle the tragedy of Cory Monteith’s death within the world of Glee – will Ryan Murphy & Co. kill Finn off? Will they simple write him out of the show? What can we expect this September when Glee returns?
FOX Chairman, Kevin Reilly revealed to E! Online some details on how Finn’s character will be handled in season 5:
FOX Entertainment Chairman Kevin Reilly recently revealed that Finn’s death will be connected with the late actor’s troubled past.
“The third episode will write Finn out of the show. That episode will deal directly with the incidents involved with Cory’s passing and the drug abuse in particular,” he said, though Reilly wouldn’t confirm that Finn would die from drug overdose.
Think it will have anything to do with Finn’s excessive college partying, in the last episode we saw him?
