So far on Glee we’ve seen Finn’s mom and Kurt’s dad, Rachel’s two dads, Mike’s parents, Santana’s family…and now Kevin McHale (Artie) wants our favorite wheelchair-bound
robot aspiring director to get his fair share of the Glee “meet the parental units”.
With a new class of seniors exploring their futures after McKinley, McHale wants to see Artie’s parents, with Brennan pitching a story about the wheelchair-bound character’s mother. “I want her to be a hoarder,” he said to laughs. And for casting? McHale wants Katey Sagal (Sons of Anarchy) and Harry Connick Jr.
So Kevin at least has Glee writer and co-creator Ian Brennan rooting for a parent storyline for Artie. It seems other cast members are getting excited about their Glee families too, including Darren Criss (Blaine) and Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina).
Criss, meanwhile, wants Matt Bomer to return as Blaine’s other — and handsome! — brother, with Peter Gallagher (The O.C.) to play his dad. “We have the same eyebrows!” he told reporters.
Ushkowitz, meanwhile, has some dream casting of her own and wants Grey’s Anatomy‘s Sandra Oh to play Tina’s crazy cousin.
But if any of you Artie fans out there are hoping he gets back with Tina (ahem, me), that’s not exactly the Artie shipping that Kevin McHale is “all for”.
“The Sugar-Artie thing may circle back around,” [Kevin] shared. “I love Vanessa [Lengies], so I’m all for it. I wanted it to happen last season, but Rory won.” (Let’s all have a moment of silence for Pixie Boy.)
Speaking of Rory…have you heard that Damian McGinty (The Glee Project) may be back for the holidays? Check out the spoilers here.
What returning or first appearing Glee family members would you like to see on the show?
