We just saw Becca Tobin’s new character, Cheerio Kitty perform her first Glee number with Jake (Jacob Artist) in this week’s new episode, and it certainly won’t be the last time. In the same fashion as Dianna Agron’s Quinn back in season 1, Kitty will soon set her sights on actually joining the glee club, more than likely to keep a close watch on Marley (Melissa Benoist) and Jake.
But at least this means we’ll see more of Becca singing and dancing! Which is, according to actress, Becca Tobin, something Kitty actually enjoys – despite joining New Directions just to get to Marley.
“Kitty does enjoy singing and dancing and I’m hoping that as we go on with the season that maybe the glee club will help her with this cutthroat ambition she has right now. Her biggest motivation right now is to keep an eye on Jake and Marley. These first few episodes back, we’ll see that competitive nature with Marley because she’s a very pretty girl who’s talented and sweet and cute boys are liking her and that’s a big threat to Kitty.”
We’ve also heard from various sources that we’ll get to see Kitty’s softer side at some point. Becca also says that we’ll get a sneak peek into what Kitty’s really like in the next episode – season 4 episode 6, “Glease” – which includes a look into Kitty’s bedroom.
“We see in ‘Glease’ that Kitty has a sleepover and all girls are in her bedroom and you see Kitty’s bedroom and you can tell so much from a character by being in their bedroom. It’s going to be fun to see Kitty’s playpen. I walked in and saw a girl who is very privileged: She has a lot of medals and trophies. It’s very obvious that Kitty is used to winning and her parents see her as No. 1 and that perpetuates this sense of entitlement that we’ve seen so far.”
Do you think, like Quinn, there’s more to Kitty than meets the eye?
