So what’s going to happen now that Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) is making his big career change and temporarily leaving the glee club at McKinley? Things are going to get all Star Wars up in there. At least, that’s what Glee creator Ryan Murphy tells us.
“There’s somebody who runs the joint a little bit. Around episodes 8 and 9 [Schue] comes back and it’s very much like ‘Star Wars’ where he’s fighting to get the soul of the club back.”
We’ve been teased that Finn (Cory Monteith) comes back to McKinley in Lima and has a new sort of role in store for him. Is this scoop from Ryan talking about Finn as Wetpaint Entertainment suggests…or could it be somebody more like Sue (Jane Lynch) or Coach Roz Washington (NeNe Leaks)? Maybe Finn’s more like Luke Skywalker, championing New Directions? Jane Lynch herself said that Finn would be helping out with the glee club, so….
But I bet you’re wondering just who will have dyslexia on the show. Ryan lets us in on that, too:
“[The Glee Project's] Blake Jenner’s character (Ryder Lynn) is a really great athlete but he is having trouble in his class work. What we reveal is that he has dyslexia, which is something we’ve never written about. So many kids across the world will relate to his struggle to have victory over dyslexia.”
There’s more to Ryder than just a dyslexic athlete though, and Blake tells us so himself!
“I play Ryder, an athletic guy. He’s never sang in his life. He falls into the Glee Club by accident. You don’t know his vulnerabilities at first but, as time goes on, people will definitely learn of the skeletons in his closet and what he’s hiding as a person.”
Definitely reminiscent of Finn back in season one, don’t you think? What are your thoughts on Finn possibly leading New Directions while Will is gone, and are you excited for Blake’s character, Ryder to show up in season 4 episode 5?
