There’s been talk of a possible Glee spin-off in the past, but FOX president Kevin Reilly has lately confirmed that the spin-off idea is definitely a no-go for now. At least in the way we were thinking, anyway.
“I don’t think there’ll be a spin-off per se,” [Reilly] told reporters at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour in Pasadena. “What ultimately came of the spin-off talk was, ‘Let’s do it within the franchise.’ It’s like life. You have friends, they go off, their lives go on, you maybe lose distance…. We can do that within this world. That’s the nature of the [show's] relationship with the actors too. Some of them want to move on to other things, but…. this gives them the chance to come back and do an arc, to do an episode. It’ll be fun to continue that kind of morphing.”
What do you think, did Glee make the right decision in doing the “spin-off” within the show itself, or would the split storylines with the graduates in New York and elsewhere have made more sense contained within their own show?
