After some musings from the cast and only hints from the Glee boss himself, we now finally have an answer regarding the heated topic of Kurt’s new beau-to-be (in honor of the upcoming “Grilled Cheesus”…hallelujah!). In Part 1 of her interview with show creator/executive producer, Ryan Murphy, E! Online’s Kristin Dos Santos gets the dirt on what a lot of us Gleeks have been waiting for. So who exactly is going to be Kurt’s boyfriend?
“It’s definitely not Chord. It’s not Chord. And the new character [Darren Criss] is certainly an option. I’m not sure how soon I want to [reveal] that information because it’s such a big storyline of the year—I want there to be some surprises. But Darren has a major, major arc. He sort of becomes Kurt’s mentor and then maybe love—he had to leave his own school because of bullying and goes to an all-boys academy and finds acceptance because that school has a no-bullying, zero-tolerance policy. So Kurt really admires him and respects him. He plays someone who’s one year older than Chris’ character, so he’s the old pro.”
I appreciate that Ryan’s keeping his options open…but I’m already loving the thought of Kurt and Blair (Darren Criss) slowly warming up to each other through a mutual friendship. I think Kurt really needs that. Plus, Blair’s older and more experienced.
Oh, and did anyone else notice that Darren recently chopped off all his hair? Now I can’t exactly call him “cute and floppy” anymore. What’s really funny is that not even Ryan Murphy knew (in his words, “What?!”). Apparently, Criss did not do it for the show (oops). But at least his voice is all that matters.
So, Kurt/Sam fans – still hoping? And for those for Kurt/Blair, think their relationship could end up as something? Comment away!
