New Glee Character: Kurt’s New Boyfriend For Real?

Now that the whole Gleeky Kurtsy fandom has got me starting to actually like the possibility of Kurt and Sam (Chord Overstreet) getting together, TV Guide relays to us that maybe the cast/crew wasn’t being dodgy about it, and that the “boyfriend for Kurt” might actually be:

The new season’s sixth episode will introduce a character named Blair. He is a gay high school junior described as masculine, sexy, charismatic and handsome — in other words, a perfect match for Kurt. Blair will recur (and sing!) in more than one episode in a storyline that finds him competing against New Directions in an opposing Glee club.

You think so? Since they’re coming right out and introducing a new “gay” character specifically, I’d say it’s a strong possibility. But you know Glee. And I don’t know about you, but I’m hoping to be surprised. Kurtsies (that’s Gleek-speak for “Kurt fans”) – I want to hear what you think in the comments!

Nuh-uh. Nope. They are not making Kurt’s love interest a “recurring character”. Not if they’re going to be prom kings(queens?). I do sense a love rival, however… Perhaps jealousy causing a realization…

@Karl. Brittany and Santana were recurring characters last year so it’s possible that a recurring character could in just about every episode

@Jess, they appeared in the first episode and became part of the club in addition to the cheerios in the second. A character with his first appearance in the sixth episode does not sound nearly as promising. You might also be thinking of Shelby, but she appeared in the first episode post-hiatus and just had to reveal her relationship with Rachel for instant character development. “Blair” would have to appear, develop some basic character, and create a relationship with Kurt very quickly. It’s much easier for him to be a love rival.

Well, that kind of ruins it for me. I was all excited for Kurt/Sam, and now I’m finding out that it probably won’t even be him who he falls in love with? What makes me the most upset is that Chord was, like, PERFECT and now I’m afraid that this new guy won’t be as good. I hope that they’ll pull a OLTL and just introduce this guy to spark jealousy between Kurt and Sam, and it’ll end in them kissing, as the title “Never Been Kissed” suggests. It kind of sounded like Sam might be gay when he made that comment on the fact that he had “never had balls in his mouth”. Here’s to hoping!

@Katy – I know, at first I wasn’t for the Kurt/Sam idea either way, but all the fans got me so jazzed about it, that now I’m a little disappointed too at the thought of it NOT being Sam. But – even if Ryan and co. didn’t plan for it to be Chord’s character in the beginning, doesn’t mean they might not end up together as a plot-line in the future (just look at Puckleberry).

So, I’m with you – here’s to hoping!

Seriously guy, there HAS to be at least more than one gay singer on a glee club.

@Katy I am with you. I guess the the thing that pissed me off is that I got a call in the last 10mins of the show that distracted me from Sam’s dialogue with Quinn and I believe she asked him was he gay? or Something to that affect. All I can say guys is “I need to know” like Mark Anthony.
