E! Online's Kristin Dos Santos has put up Part 1 of her interview with Glee creator/executive producer, Ryan Murphy, uncovering the latest on Tuesday's new (and emotional) episode, "Grilled Cheesus, and how it's sort of the catalyst episode for season 2's major storyline:
"The core of the show is really about tolerance," Murphy explains. "I think that's the legacy of Glee more than anything else. So as we began the year we were very conscious of that. Last year the throughline was about teenage pregnancy. And the throughline this year is really about Kurt (Chris Colfer) and his feelings about tolerance, not only in high school and in the world, but also the ripple effect it has on everybody around him."
I can certainly do with some more Kurt! I really think that "tolerance" is a subject that needs to be covered with today's youth - maybe even everybody in general. And with as much popularity, acclaim, and influence Glee has right now, it seems like the perfect way to do it.
