The Gleekosphere has been itching to catch a peek at Rachel's gay dads since season 1 it seems, but it's looking like there aren't any plans yet to bring the Berry dads into the picture. But a certain "mom" someone will be making her re-appearance on the show.
"I just came from the studio recording," Idina Menzel (who portrays Rachel's mom, Shelby) says. "I won't say what it is, but it's something with Lea (Michele) and it's one of the best songs ever written."
It's being said that Shelby/Menzel will be in at least eight episodes this coming season, and could be cutting into some WillxEmma time...*wink-wink*. But of course, that's just us Gleeks speculating. Says Menzel of Shelby in season 3: "The only thing I can say is my character becomes definitely more multi-dimensional. She definitely has a big heart so we'll see new aspects to her personality."
Right, so about that "dad" in the headline...read on for more spoilers:
- Glee is in the process of casting Mike Chang's "stylish" mom and "conservative" dad. An Asian couple (not what you were expecting, I know) to possibly return for more than one episode.
- No word yet on a season 3 storyline for Brittany and Santana, but you know it's coming - Santana's graduating, after all! But it will more than likely be later in the season since the writers haven't covered it quite yet, though it is an arc they've set their sights on.
- One thing we do have some word on is our winners of The Glee Project - sort of. Sam and Damian have kind of been setting their sights on Dianna Agron's character, Quinn (for their yet-to-be-written characters, of course). Both of the guys think it would be interesting for their characters on the show to be into Quinn, even if Sam does end up as a "church-y indie rocker" type and Damian as the "freshman". Meanwhile, Alex has a cool idea for his character that just might work - Mercedes' little bro (aw...), and Lindsay isn't so sure she wants to be ruffling any Rachel Berry feathers. Read the Watch with Kristin article here for all the dirty details.
Any thoughts on what song our mommy-daughter duo Idina Menzel (Shelby) and Lea Michele (Rachel) will be tackling next? It's the "one of the best songs ever written", remember.... Share in the comments!
