According to a recent post from Zap2it, the “rumors of Chord Overstreet’s exit from ‘Glee’ were greatly exaggerated”. Huh. No kidding.
This summer I came across a few articles and postings about Chord Overstreet (who plays loveable season 2 newcomer Sam Evans) apparently “leaving” the show. Now I’m not as huge a Sam fan as my sister, but just like about every other rabid Gleek out there I’m sure, I almost had a heart attack – until I read further and realized that Chord just hadn’t been upped to a series regular for season 3, as was the case with past popular recurring actors Heather Morris (Brittany), Naya Rivera (Santana), Harry Shum, Jr. (Mike Chang), and Darren Criss (Blaine). Whew, bullet dodged.
Well, you would think so. Except I think all my fellow rabid Gleeks misunderstood a wee bit because next thing I know, Chord’s apparently ditching Glee. (When did this happen…??) But I’m here to set all those fears to rest because as far as the Gleekosphere knows, Chord Overstreet (and Sam Evans) just hasn’t been written into the show on a permanent basis yet. Which basically means: more Chord/Sam in season 3, just maybe not as much as Blaine and Mike Chang.
Whew, bullet dodged.
Meanwhile, check out these fun blurbs from Chord/Sam Gleeks via BuddyTV. At least we know he’s loved. Sam Gleeks, sound off in the comments about your thoughts on Chord Overstreet on Glee!
