Will Game of Thrones kill off Jon Snow for the second time on its penultimate season?
His portrayer, Kit Harrington, recently chatted with Indie Wire and sent out a message to Jon Snow's followers that there's a possibility he won't survive the upcoming season.
Read his comment below:
I felt quite safe in Season 6, a little less safe this season.
We need to know that: We need to know Jon Snow is in genuine peril otherwise the whole point of this TV show is lost. We know everyone’s in peril. So don’t expect him to be in Season 8; he might not be.
Harrington also addressed the mystery behind Jon's parentage, while staying mum on the theories about being a Targaryen.
I think it’s very important for him to believe he’s a Stark.
As much as he is a Snow, deep down he’s of the north and he’s of the Stark family. That’s hugely important to him that he’s part of that family and part of that history. I think it would hurt him if he thought there was no Stark in him. Luckily enough, we know there is. We know his mother was Lyanna Stark so he’s at least half Stark.
In other Thrones news, Nikolaj-Coster Waldau talked about the will-they-or-won't-they relationship of Jamie and Brienne in his recent interview with Variety.
While fans are still rooting for the two to hit it off, the actor was quick to dismiss the fan theory.
I think they have this real affection for each other, and respect, and most importantly, they have real trust.
[But] do they have romantic feelings for each other? I don’t think he’s really capable of [that]. Unless he’s able to completely leave Cersei, I don’t [think] that’s gonna happen. I think he’s a very monogamous man. He’s faithful.
Thrones returns Sunday, July 16 on HBO.
