In an upcoming episode (S05E06), two Russian characters will be introduced. As first learned by TV Line, The Americans actress Annet Mahendru has been tapped to play the role of Katya, a talented Russian figure skater who shows Olympic promise.

Joining her is Mike Dopud (Continuum/Mistresses) who will play as Sergei, a Russian gangster.

CBS has announced official premiere and return dates of its primetime programming this fall, including the live broadcast of the 65th Emmy Awards on Sept. 22 (Sunday).

The primetime schedule kicks off on Sept. 23 (Monday) with the return of HIMYM and the premiere of two new series, Mom and Hostages. (Please click on links for new series description.)

On the Tuesday block, veteran series NCIS and NCIS:LA get back-to-back airing followed by Person of Interest which formerly aired Thursdays.

Criminal Minds and CSI landed the Wednesday time slots beginning at 9pm.

On Sept. 26 (Thursday), The Big Bang Theory will lead off the comedy block and will be followed by two new comedies, The Millers and The Crazy Ones. The second season of Elementary will debut the same night at 10pm.

Hawaii Five-0 (formerly aired Mondays) and Blue Bloods will return Sept. 27 (Friday).

Sunday dramas, The Good Wife and The Mentalist return on Sept. 29 after the season 23 premiere of The Amazing Race.

Executive producer David Hudgins hashed out the future of Hank (played by Ray Romano) as well as Sarah Braverman’s (Lauren Graham) journey of finding herself (and love) on NBC’s Parenthood.

In season 4, the writers have created a love-triangle romance for Lauren Graham’s character that ultimately ended in a sour note. Sarah has just been wiggling around with Hank and Mark when she obviously could have just chosen the latter.

After picking Hank instead of much-stable, absolutely harmless Mr. Mark Cyr, Sarah was denied of love again as her choice of man decided to live with his daughter in Minnesota.

So what can viewers expect in Sarah’s tiny love-bubble in season 5? Will Mark woe her back for the nth time? Or will she fly to Minnesota and mother Hank’s daughter?

On Hank Romano’s return as Hank:

“We’re currently discussing it. I love Ray Romano and thought he was so good on the show last year…. He’s great in that part and he works hard. He doesn’t just show up and do his [scenes]; he actually researched the character.”

“It was so interesting because we wrote the character [of Hank], then Ray was cast and then we shot [his first] scene. But the first time we actually saw him on-screen — and I think it was with Lauren Graham — we said, ‘Oh my gosh. Wow. This is watchable… This is kind of great!’”

Thank God! TV Line has confirmed that the EP promised that Sarah’s Flavor of the Season will not be the driving force of her storyline this time around.

“We definitely want to set Sarah on a path. Her story last year — and arguably the year before — was about a lot of things, I thought; I actually feel like Sarah Braverman’s story really has always been, ‘I’m a single mother trying to figure out my way with a husband that wasn’t really there and hasn’t really helped.’ But just naturally, because of the way the story’s developed, there was a triangle last year with Hank and Mark.”

“There is a very conscious effort on our part to set Sarah on a path that will really let her shine — and in conjunction with that, she may still have some love interests.”

Erin Cummings (Spartacus: War of the Damned) nabbed a guest starring gig on CBS’ returning series, Unforgettable.

She will play Eve Steele, an elite thief-for-hire that happens to bear a resemblance to NYPD detective Carrie Wells, played by Poppy Montgomery.

When Eve is pulled in for questioning on the eve of a major heist, watch for Carrie’s team to consider a “switcheroo,” by having Detective Super-Memory pose as the elusive, reclusive burglar.

The actress confirmed about the aforementioned guest role via Twitter on Wednesday. Cummings’ yet-to-be scheduled episode is titled “Incognito.”

Camilla Luddington, Gaius Charles, Jerrika Hinton and Tessa Ferrer – who play interns Jo, Shane, Stephanie and Lea respectively scored the promotion as series regulars on the medical drama’s upcoming tenth season.

As first learned by TV Line, creators of ABC’s Scandal has promoted Scott Foley‘s character to series regular for season 3.

“Star-Crossed”, a midseason series offered by the CW network for the fall 2013 lineup. The series follows a teenage girl who recently reunited with her childhood crush. Apparently, her crush happens to be an alien who spent the intervening years of his childhood in a government internment camp.

Friday Night Lights actress Aimee Teegarden plays the role of teenager Emery and 90210 actor plays his alien-lover, Roman.

Also joining the cast is Secret Life of the American Teenager actor Greg Finley. On the series, he portrays the role of Drake and is one of the villains in the series.

In the pilot of Star-Crossed, your character, Emery, befriends Roman and, in doing so, commits social suicide. How will that play out during the season?

I don’t know — I haven’t actually seen anything other than the very first episode. So I’m not sure, but I have a feeling there will be a lot of mixed emotions and ups and downs, and … fighting what your heart wants versus what your mind is thinking and what you should be doing. There’s going to be lots of good turmoil. I think it’s one of those TV shows that really captures the youth, and obviously there are aliens that are an aspect of it, but it’s not really about that. It’s really about the storylines. So, yeah, your guess is as good as mine.

Do you think Emery will befriend the other Atrian teens?
Oh no! I’ve become an Atrian wannabe — that’s what’s going to happen! I think that she sees the world in a different light. I don’t necessarily think she sees race between humans and aliens — or purple, green, pink, whatever. It doesn’t matter to her. I think she’s really interested in getting to know the individual, so I feel like if there are other good Atrians, aliens, then possibly. But we’ll see.

Where do you see Emery’s romance with Roman going in this first season?
I don’t know. I feel like it’s going to be a slow burn. I feel like it might be a slow burn with some road bumps, like any good high school romance.

Greg Finley interview:

Tell me about your character on Star-Crossed.
Greg Finley: I play Drake, Roman’s best friend. I kind of play the Mercutio to his Romeo. I hate the humans because they’ve been imprisoning us for 18 or 19 years … There’s no love for the humans.

So are you the bully character?
No, I’m not the bully because Jesse [Luken] plays the bully [Eric]. [I'm] not the bully … just protective over his race and protective over Roman. As Roman falls for Emery’s character I almost feel like he’s going against me and against us.

So you, as Drake, do not approve of the Roman-Emery relationship?
Not at all, at all. I think the show is going to start to expand on that. As you’ll see in the pilot, something happens, something kinda very bad and it’s kinda my fault.

So you come between them?
Very much, yeah.
