The CW Cancels Emily Owens M.D.

The CW network is pulling the plug on Mamie Gummer’s starred medical series, Emily Owens M.D. — Deadline confirmed.

The series which premiered soft in ratings continued to hit low as the season progressed. This could be the reason why the CW has not opted to pick-up any additional scripts for the rookie drama. The show will then wrap-up its production for the 13-episode original order next week, the report added.

The show’s performance on last week’s airing (Tuesday 9pm time slot) plunged down with a 0.3 in ratings with only 1 million viewers.

    I’m heartbroken! I love this show and feel like six episodes isn’t enough to judge where it could be by the end of a first season… Here’s hoping for a miracle!

    Exactly! They gotta stop doing this, just give ur TV shows a chance already CW-.- it’s frustrating that they compare every new show’s ratings to the ones of TVD, a series that NOTHING can compete against as long as they have guys like Ian Somerhalder.

    I’m not saying this is the ultimate show, my absolute favorite or anything, but it makes me laugh A LOT, which means something, cuz I don’t laugh a lot^^

    So sad to loose this show. It is sweet, funny, and just entertaining! Wish the cw would give it a chance and least let the show finish their first season!

    This is horrible news! I LOVE this show! The CW is making a major mistake. I think the network should give this show a real chance! I look forward to it every week, and I know a lot of people who do too. It’s a great show, and I hope the verdict changes. There’s so much potential, and the cast is fantastic. I REALLY think this is the wrong decision. Emily Owens M.D. is awesome!

    Nooooo!!! One of the only shows I really like on TV these days. I thought it might be annoying when I first watched it but it is so good! And Mamie Gummer is just like her mom, of course not exactly like her but she has her mom’s magnetism and charm, a total pleasure to watch. I don’t know why this show isn’t popular?????
