Cougar Town creators Bill Lawrence and Kevin Biegel are stepping down from their showrunner duties with CT's announced move to cable network TBS, and The Hollywood Reporter tells us they've already found the new man for the job.
"Gary Unmarried’s Ric Swartzlander has been tapped to take over the ABC Studios comedy, which is making the move from ABC to TBS next season. The new showrunner comes with a lengthy resume of past comedy projects, including Ellen, Samantha Who? and 8 Simple Rules."
Does this new direction mean that Bill and Kevin's grassroots marketing for Cougar Town will be a thing of the past? Not exactly. The two will definitely be seeing what they can cook up in partnership with TBS, who's as gung-ho as the cast and crew about drumming up a bigger audience for the show.
Are you excited for Cougar Town's season 4? Do you think TBS and Ric Swartzlander will keep the show moving in a positive direction? Give a shout-out in the comments!
