‘Community’s’ Big Move, Plus Will Dan Harmon and Chevy Chase Be Back for Season 4?

Lots of changes coming for our favorite study group. NBC announced its Fall 2012 schedule today, and Community is moving to Friday nights at 8:30 pm, after Whitney at 8.

While that means Community will no longer be against big ratings rival The Big Bang Theory, many feel that Friday night is where TV shows go to die. NBC president Robert Greenblatt, however, maintains that the move is a good thing:

“The show has its faithful audience and they will follow it to the ends of the Earth. And I really wanted to do something to invigorate Friday because we love Grimm. So I thought, let’s move a show where the audience will move with it. I actually look at the positive side of it, although no good deed goes unpunished.”

Greenblatt, meanwhile, would neither confirm nor deny that creator Dan Harmon would be stepping down as showrunner. Harmon has yet to sign a deal for Season 4. Greenblatt says:

“I’m not up to speed on that yet. I think he’ll be involved in the show to some degree…I think those conversation are happening as we speak…I expect Dan’s voice to be a part of this show somehow. I’m just not sure if that means him running it day-to-day or him consulting on it.”

And what about Harmon’s sparring partner, Chevy Chase?

“My assumption is [he will be back]. But I haven’t had any conversations about that this week, so I don’t have a definitive yes or no.”

Do you think Community’s move to Friday is the beginning of the end? And do you want Harmon and/or Chase to return? Keep checking back here for the latest news and spoilers regarding these matters and more for Season 4.
