Chicago PD is set to crossover with Chicago Fire this season on the cop drama's 100th episode milestone. Set to air in March 2018, the special event will kick off on PD and will conclude the following night on Fire.
As for for plot details, EP Derek Haas told TV Line that it involves “P.D. taking over Firehouse 51 for the second part of [the crossover], on a stakeout kind of a situation,” which will “have fun parts to it,” while also leading to “conflict,” said the EP.
Some characters from Chicago Med are also expected to appear in the crossover.
On casting, John Pankow (Episodes) has booked a guest starring role this season on PD. He will appear in the show's Nov. 29th fall finale.

He will play Judge Wells, who attended the Police Academy with Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) way back when and for whom Voight has great respect. A respected judge across the city, he remains calm and well-spoken even in the face of crisis. When a nationwide epidemic hits close to home in Chicago, and specifically close to Judge Wells' home, Voight promises him they will do everything possible to right this wrong.
Former PD star Sophia Bush, meanwhile, addressed her recent departure from the show on Instagram.
“Took me a long time and a lot of hard work to get out of that show,” the actress replied to a fan who commented on her new pilot project.
“I left because I wanted to. End of story.”
