Casting Bits: 'Young Sheldon' casts Meemaw, Nick Wechsler joins 'Shades of Blue' and more

Multiple casting news have arrived in the world of television today!

Young Sheldon (CBS)

Annie Potts (Designing Women) has been cast as Sheldon's Meemaw on the CBS spinoff of Big Bang Theory. 

The character is described as a woman who is very supportive of her grandson and his unique gifts. She is the mother to star Zoe Perry's Mary Cooper.

Shades of Blue (NBC)

Nick Wechsler (Revenge) will recur on the cop drama's upcoming third season. 

He’ll play Detective Cole, but character details are under wraps.

Designated Survivor (ABC)

Zoe McLellan (NCIS: New Orleans) has been cast as a series regular on the political drama's upcoming sophomore season. 

She will play Kendra Daynes, a brilliant and wily attorney who lands her dream job as White House counsel. On her personal and professional journey, she develops close relationships with the White House staff while wrestling legal issues that find their way to her desk because she advises the most powerful man in the world.

The Originals (CW)

The TVD spinoff has promoted Steven Kreuger to series regular ahead of the show's fifth season. Kreuger is the portrayer of Josh Rosza, who was first introduced as a tourist then turned into a vampire later on.
