Casting Bits: 'Law & Order True Crime' cast Josh Stamberg, Rya Kihlstedt; Claire Forlani books 'Hawaii Five-0' return & more

Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders (NBC)

Dick Wolf's anthology series has added Josh Stamberg (Parenthood), Rya Kihlstedt (Dexter) and Keong Sim (Olympus Has Fallen) to its season 1 cast. 

Kihlstedt will play Cindy Erdelyi, an ex-cop who is Menendez lawyer Leslie Abramson’s go-to investigator. She is described as hard-hitting with connections at every level of law enforcement. 

Stamberg will play Robert Rand, a nonthreatening reporter who has gained access to the Menendez home and forms a connection with the case. 

Sim will portray Deputy District Attorney Lester Kuriyama, the second fiddle to DDA Pam Bozanich (Elizabeth Reaser). He’s by-the-book, unimaginative, doesn't think outside the box and a lifer in the DA's office.

Code Black (CBS)

Moon Bloodgood has been upped to series regular ahead of the show's upcoming third season.

In June, the actress has been cast in the role of L.A. paramedic Rox Valenzuela, who’ll be saving lives alongside ride-along partner Dr. Willis, played by Rob Lowe.

Hawaii Five-0 (CBS)

Claire Forlani will reprise her role as criminal profiler Alicia Brown in season 8, exec producer Peter Lenkov has confirmed in a report from EW. 

Star (FOX)

Michael Michele (ER) has joined season 2 of the musical drama as a series regular.

Michele will play Ayanna, described as a modern day black Alexis Carrington. She’s the new president of the girls’ record label, and money is the bottom line for her. She knows the music business is changing and is driven to do whatever it takes to make her label relevant.

For the People (ABC)

Jasmin Savoy Brown (The Leftovers) has been cast as one of the lead characters in Shonda Rhimes' new legal drama. 

Brown will play Allison, Sandra’s (Brit Robertson) roommate, best friend from law school and now colleague in the Federal’s Public Defender’s Office.

The Resident (FOX)

Moran Atias (Tyrant) has joined the medical drama as a series regular.

Atias will play hospital CEO Renata Thorpe, a tough, savvy, elegant businesswoman, not a physician, gifted with both cunning and charm. 

Shades of Blue (NBC)

Bruce McGill (Rizzoli & Isles) will recur on the cop drama's third season.

McGill will play Jordan Ramsey, a ruthless and resourceful man who runs a unit out of the Intelligence Division. Capable of going to extreme measures to ensure the success of his agenda, Ramsey is not burdened by an over-active moral compass. He knows what he wants, and he pushes the limits to get it.

The Crossing (ABC)

Melinda McGraw (Mad Men) will recur on ABC's midseason series starring Steve Zahn. Detaails onher character are still under wraps.
