Bones has officially been picked up for an 8th season by Fox! The forensic based crime series was averaging 9.5 million viewers an episode before going on their Winter hiatus. Bones Creator Hart Hanson gushed early on, with confidence about season 7's success, calling the series 'reinvigorated' and went even further at Paley Fest teasing not only a Season 8, but a season 9 as well.
“There’s always the business side between the studio and the network, and they have to figure our license fees and things,” Hanson said. “But, I hate to say this, in many, many ways, Bones is Fox’s most successful hour-long scripted drama. I’m pretty confident that we’ll be back for Seasons 8 and 9, yeah.”
Throughout the 7 aired episodes of Season 7, Bones has ranged from 2.50 to 3.20 million viewers each week, boasting Fox's lowest index at 1.71, which is on pace with other competitive network shows such as NCIS: Los Angeles, Person of Interest and Fox newcomer New Girl. Bones won't return to our small screens until April 2nd, with "The Prisoner In The Pipe". Tuesday will be a new day for Bones, making room for new series Touch.
