‘Bones’ And ‘ The Finder’ Series Announced For Fox Fall Line-up

Fox has officially announced their Fall line-up and fan favorite Bones will remain in it’s Thursday spot from 9-10. However, a slight change will be made mid-season due to Emily Deschanel’s pregnancy. Bones spin-off, The Finder, will premiere mid-season as a contingency plan for episodes missed by the starlet. Fox President Keith Reilly gives us the details about the decision to split the time slot.

By adding The Finder, we did this planted spinoff that we got some great feedback on. Bones has one of the most loyal fan bases on our network. That’s something we want to seed and service. Everybody would like to have a show like Bones, and we said instead of starting from scratch, let’s build one out of Bones. We’re serving different parts of the audience at Fox but we have to service our core as well.

Huge disappointment!  Don’t know exactly what positive feedback they were talking about because the majority of feedback I read was negative!  We won’t watch The Finder but will wait anxiously for Bones to return!

I agree with Suzyku. I found The Finder to a huge disappointment.
How is was picled up as a series is hard to believe since most of the feedback was negative.
I found The Finder to be a complete BORE and waste of time.
I will not bother watching any future The Finder episodes.

I agree with fellow fan fan’s  I did not hear any positive comments about the finder at all I personally found it to be completely unbelievable , when he broke in the apartment and took of his closes I found that completely …..

I belive you other commenters are right. I belive they will regret airing the finder. They could have done many other things because of the pregancy but airing the finder was probalyy not the smartest move. I also dont see how it is considred a spin a pinoff and I belive that they will be building from a new fan base not from btones fan base  Many loyal bones will refuse to watch the show and like many other bones fan I will eagerly await the retuen of my beloved show.

I my self would have preferred that they would have done a best of Booth Brennan episodes during Emily maternity leave. Here are my choices

2 body’s in the Labe, soldier in the grave, women in limbo, alience in the star ship, Judas on the cross, Baby in the bought, Santa in the slush, Doctor in the photo, the dwarf in the dirt, the goop in the girl, and the Blackout in the Blizzard

    These are my choices

Okay, this doesn’t make sense. Because as of the season finale, Dr. Brennan has now announced she is also pregnant. I think the best thing to do is have the season 7 permiere open with Brennan and Booth sitting down with Skeets to talk about her pregnancy and how it is going to effect her and Booth working relationship. Then flash to 6 months later where the audience is able to see that Brennan can still work in the lab, but is limited to helping out in the field with her pregnancy. 10 episodes of this up untill the mid season finale where Brennan gives birth. Show then returns after the hitais to show Dr.Brennan now dealing with being a new mom while still juggling her relationship with Booth (romantic?), finding time to work in the lab to help solve murder cases, and also helping Booth with field work, which I think is going to very limited if the character is now expecting and a new mom. Unless the show hires a hot popular actress to play a nanny to look after the baby in season 7 or season 8, while Brennan is working. I can also expect that Brennan’s pregnancy is going to bring a lot of comedy to the show. Not easy working in the lab with a big pregnant belly. It will also bring some great moments for fans of the Booth/Brennan relationship considering he’s the daddy. I am so excited!!

Personally, I really enjoyed The Finder, but it jarred against the Bones cast. This is obviously meant to be a more fantastical and quip filled series, reminding me a lot of Castle, Moonlighting and even Tales Of The Gold Monkey! It certainly isn’t a Bones spin off and shoehorning it into the series was a mistake. Make a pilot and let it stand on it’s own two feet instead. But, it’s the kind of quirky and light hearted TV that both Castle and Hawaii Five-O have tapped successfully, and I’ll definitely give it a go.

Great post! It was suppose to be a stand alone. However, due to Emily Deschanel’s pregnancy the network and studio thought it would be a nice solution so that Emily can take a few episodes off to be a mommy :).

Well, this will most definitely not be a useful comment (nor new in any way), but I would also like to express my personal opinion on “The Finder”, and this seems to be the right place for it. :) My biggest problem was that the two main characters (both the male and the female lead, especially the latter one) were simply annoying and -as English is not my mother tongue- talking in a way (accent) that was far too difficult for me to understand; thus, I lost interest quickly. As for a spin-off (series), I would have preferred one that centres around the life and work of one of the other guys in the laboratory (Hodgins, for example), or maybe one of the interns (they are all -weirdly- fantastic). Anyway, I hope the studio reconsiders airing The Finder series in the light of all the negative feedback. To say something positive, however, I have to admit that the idea of the finders working together with the lab workers from time to timemay not be a bad idea.. I am looking forward to the developments.

@d8d6d6a81533b23fb663e137fe2b8fab:disqus I totally agree with you on this but let me add a couple eps to your excellent selecction: “The Critic in the cabernet”  “the Man in the morgue”  i love to see Brennan  vulnerable and Booth runing to her side to protect her. (something we might watch in the 7th. season.)

and as a plus “the woman in the sand” just to watch Booth slapping her Butts :P

Thank you I agree with those choices as well. I can’t wait are wee September yet.

i think the finder is a great idea considering emily deschanel is going to have to take a maternity no matter what and they can’t have the group solving murders without her character. all these comments r thoughtless. don’t watch the show if you don’t want to but its rude to say that this will be boring. you don’t know that
