HBO Sets Premiere Date for ‘Game of Thrones’, Final Season of ‘Boardwalk Empire’ and More

game-of-thrones-deleted-scenesHBO has announced Thursday the premiere dates for its returning and new string of shows this year at the Television Critics Association winter press tour.

The fourth season of Game of Thrones has been set to premiere on Sunday, April 6, at 9/8c. The fantasy drama will be followed by Veep which returns for its third season at 10/9c.

New comedy Silicon Valley from Office Space creator Mike Judge is slated to make its debut the same night at 10:30/9:30c.

In addition, the network has announced that the fifth season of Boardwalk Empire will be its last. The final season will bow this fall.

HBO’s new comedy Doll & Em starring The Newsroom‘s Emily Mortimer and Dolly Wells will launch on Wednesday, March 19 at 10/9c.

Finally, HBO will also launch Ryan Murphy‘s TV-movie adaptation of The Normal Heart in May. The upcoming film stars Mark Ruffalo, Julia Roberts, Matt Bomer (White Collar), and Taylor Kitsch (Friday Night Lights).
