Boardwalk Empire has found a new gangster in veteran Emmy-winning TV actor Bobby Cannavale. His character, Gyp Rosetti, will be Nucky’s greatest challenge in season 3. Gyp is describes as a charming, but ruthless gangster who will seek control of Nucky’s bootleg business.
Creator Terence Winter plans to start season 3, 16 months ahead of where season 2 left off, in 1923. “It was an exciting year,” he told EW. “All the people who stockpiled liquor started to run out, so competition between bootleggers became really fierce.”
