Beauty and the Beast, is the CW’s re-imagining of a classic tale. This brand-new show premieres Thursday, October 11 and here’s the official description for its first episode titled “Pilot”.

  • When she was a teenager, Catherine “Cat” Chandler (Kristin Kreuk, “Smallville”) witnessed the murder of her mother
  • Cat would have been killed too, but someone – or something – saved her.
  • Now, years have passed and Cat is a police officer, investigating a case that leads her to the person who saved her: a doctor named Vincent Keller (Jay Ryan, “Terra Nova”).
  • With the help of his childhood friend J.T. Forbes (Austin Basis, “Life Unexpected”), Vincent has been in hiding, guarding his secret — when enraged, he becomes a terrifying beast, unable to control his super strength.
  •  Cat is touched by the person that lives within the Beast and she knows she has to keep her relationship with Vincent a secret from her boss, Joe Bishop (Brian White, “The Shield”), her partner, Tess Vargas (Nina Lisandrello, “Nurse Jackie”), and even from her close friend, Evan Marks (Max Brown, “The Tudors”), the medical examiner.
  • Cat and Vincent are powerfully drawn to one another, but they understand that their connection is extremely dangerous for both of them.

SPOILERS — I just watched the first episode and I liked the show. In the trailer, the cast for the main character didn’t feel right to me because she looks too young and nice for a badass detective. At first I thought I was wrong because she DID act like a cop. Later though, I thought she walked wrong for the character: she’s being badass and “show yourself” while searching the warehouse but she moves too gracefully to look like she’s truly ready for any danger that comes at her. And then she kind of unravels in the subway…not very “cool under the treath of danger” for a police officer. I was very disapointed by the plot: I saw the exact same thing in an episode of “The Closer”(a hairdresser poisonned a woman with hair product because she was having an affair with her husband,a.k.a. the lying cheating scum who told all his “girls” his wife was the only thing standing in the way of them being together. At the end of the episode, the main character of “The Closer” said “you might not have killed her but you are the reason she’s dead” and then she asked for a list of names.)
