Scandal and The Neighbors get a full-season order according to ABC, Monday. The political drama series, Scandal and the sitcom surrounding the suburban alien community, The Neighbors is now getting a total of 22 episodes this year. According to TV line, it is an interesting move by the network to up the new comedy for a full season. They weighed-in with the statement:

TVLine viewers weren’t huge fans of The Neighbors‘ premiere — you all gave it an average grade of D — ABC likely responded to the aliens-in-the-suburbs sitcom’s strong debut ratings (9.3 million viewers and a 3.3 rating) and its steady performance in its Wednesday-night timeslot.

Moreover, the Shonda Rhimes series was given a ‘toss up for renewal/cancellation’ conjecture by TV by the numbers.

It’s cool to see The Neighbors
secure its full season. I haven’t had the chance to watch Scandal yet, but I’m
sure it deserves the go-ahead, too. The Neighbors is a great show to wind down
and have a few laughs with. A few friends that work with me at DISH think that
the pro-athlete named aliens are the driving force for the entertainment. I
just hope that we see a Joe Montana. I like to have a laugh whenever I can, so
I’m saving the entirety of this season to my Hopper. It’s nice to have a DVR
with enough memory to let me save everything I want to. Cheers to the
    unexpected shows sticking around.
