Recent spoilers have revealed that Jackie Taylor will in fact be dying this season. Jessica Stroup gives us more details about this upcoming death on the show and what else we have to look forward to for Silver…

On how Ann Gillespie feels about her character’s death…

“It’s never nice to learn that you’re character’s dead, but I think she was actually kind of happy to find some resolution. And she pushed for the storyline to be treated with respect and dignity so those who are going through breast cancer can relate,” Jessica explains.

On how Jackie Taylor redeems herself in her daughters’, Silver’s and Kelly’s, eyes…

As we’ve seen, Silver is a bit hesitant but decides to move in with her mom. Jessica Stroups spills that Jackie “recreates all the birthdays and special moments that she missed because of her alcoholism.”

As for Kelly, she’ll have a dose of reality when she “walks into an empty hospital room and thinks she’s lot her chance to say goodbye… makes her realize she has to say goodbye,” Jessica Stroup explains.

On what it was like filming Jackie’s death scene and her funeral…

Jessica describes filming  the death scene as very emotional and that when Jackie passes away, “Jennie and I are on either side of her. Jennie leaned over at one point and grabbed my hand, and that was it for me. Jennie was definitely crying too,” Jessica says.

As for the funeral, Jessica describes it as “simple and honest” and that the scene is filmed as them coming back from a funeral and not on a gravesite.

On the effects her mother’s death will have on Silver…

I think it makes her stronger. She’s been through so much with her mother that’s already made her independent and strong-willed, but this will show new sides of her character. She’s becoming more of a whole person with this closure. It’s a huge growing point for her. And she and Kelly have bonded through this loss,” Jessica tells us.

On Silver’s future with Teddy and Dixon…

With Teddy, Silver finds someone who can relate to what she’s going through, which causes “a little spark happens between them that’s sort of out of the blue.” As for Dixon, Jessica tells us that he went to the funeral and that “this will bring them back together when he comes to her. He’ll realize that maybe he misses her as more than just a friend.”
