ABC Family Canceling 10 Things?

Lately ABC Family has been having trouble pulling off successful comedies, and now it seems despite its original high ratings and early praise, their newest comedy, 10 Things I Hate About You might also be one of those comedies added to the canceled list. Based on its spring ratings, we might be in danger of cancellation:

Insiders have confirmed that ABC family is extremely disappointed with 10 Things I Hate About You’s spring ratings and is unlikely to continue the show. The cast and crew are aware of this and some are already looking for other project.

Several cast members have also tweeted that the show is likely to be cancelled due to low ratings.

If you’re as big a fan of this series as I am, be sure to watch Monday nights (tonight!) on ABC Family so we can pull of a series save (crossing fingers). You know you still want your 10 Things spoilers. And give a shout-out in the comments telling us what you think. Is the series still as strong as its original movie counterpart or do you feel it’s slowly going downhill? Why aren’t ABC Family’s comedies as successful as its dramas? Let’s discuss!

You do realize that, unless you are a part of the Nielson Ratings thing, you’re viewership does not count. Or if you post to their Facebook fan page, and become a fan. Those things should help.

I re-read my previous comment and saw that it might not make sense. I meant to say “Posting on their Facebook fan page, and becoming a fan might help.”

lizzie – That’s a very good point, thank you for bringing that up! I even know about the Nielsen ratings and how they’re measured, but it just completely slipped my mind. Yes, that would matter in figuring up how well 10 THINGS is doing. Your other great point is bringing up the Facebook fan page – can’t believe I didn’t think of that. With social media and the Internet nowadays, it does seem like that would be a more reliable way of getting in touch with the fanbase. :)
